Gregory (played by Celine): Gregory is changed to Georgia because it is a female playing the character, because the role is played by a female. Since Gregory was a part of the Capulet family, we used Georgia as a loyal fan for the cubs. Georgia is replused by the thought of the Soxs which is why Georgia gives Abe (a Sox fan) a disgusted look when Sammy and him have their heated argue. Georgia agress with Sam during the video because she is a devoted Cubs fan and everything they talked about was trash torwads the Sox. Prince (played by Celine): The Prince is changed to an UMP. In our video, UMP stands for "Ultra-Magnificent Prince". During the video, UMP comes running in a hurry to the fighting scence because he needs to break up the fight and keep peace in Chicago. The UMP talks in a loud, comanding voice to sound like he is in charge and to tell them that there were serious consequences for starting a riot in the streets. He wants to prevent any further trouble in Chicago to keep the streets safe and from more fans hurting each other. UMP has a serious face so that the two fans will take him seriously instead of continuing the fight. Sampson (played by Holly): In this video, Sampson is regarded as Sammy (Sam-for short) because the character is played by a female. Sammy is a very confident Cubs fan. She likes to imply a sense of humor and "baseball" terms while she speaks. The character was devoted to her team as Sampson was devoted to his family. This is significant because this would make Sammy react in different ways, such as rudeness. The body movement of Sammy was very careless. This does remind me of Sampson because he is a careless servant. The volume varied throughout, from soft to loud. As the tension rose, when Abe arrived, Sammy's tone increased a lot. Also, the speed was steady until the tension rose because Sammy changed to more persistent. In general, Sammy is a die-heart Cubs fan! Benvolio (played by Holly): Benvolio is mentioned as Becca. Again, the reason behind this is because a female is playing this part. Becca is for peace. She believes that violence is not the answer for resolving this fight. Becca is a powerful person, and her arrival represents her personality because she shouts, "Break it up!" The volume of her voice is louder to display dominance over the opposing, or Tybalt. In Becca's role, she has pronounced body movements. These also show dominance and strength. Becca continues to have a steady pace as she speaks to demonstrate confidence. With the confidence, she begins to fight. Although she is for peace, Becca wants to stand up for her team, the Cubs, as well. Abe (played by Michael): The character Abe is played as a Sox fan, he is also the rival of the Chicago Cubs. He is very calm about everything, and does not look for trouble. However, he will not take "nonsense" from anyone. If someone bothers him, he will bother them back hard. As was shown during his appearance in the video. The body language used by Abe, shows he is prepared for any fight, and has an 'In your face' type attitude when he carries the bat and starts to swing it when he talks. The fight scene shows he has his own fun when he fights, hence the smile on his face at times. Tybalt (played by Michael) The Character Tybalt has stayed the same as Tybalt, because they are both man names and the actor portraying him is a man. However, Tybalt's name is not the only similar characteristic between the original and the modern. Tybalt in Shakespeare is a man that is very impulsive and a man of the sword. In this version, the swords are bats, but Tybalt is just like the original. He will fight over anything, but especially if anyone talked to him about the Cubs. The Cubs repulse him, they bother him so much, he would rather live in Hell. As shown in the video, Tybalt will fight over the sky not being blue. He doesn't take losing kindly, and he is aggravated at the UMP's talk, but doesn't want to get his team in trouble. Thus explains the facial actions. |
